Please take a few minutes to update your Warmshowers profile. Has your hosting status changed or do you have some new info to add? Now is the time to log in and be sure that all of your information is current.

It's Time to Update Your Profile!

There are over 180,000 registered Warmshowers users and we are continually evaluating the security and response rate of our hosts and touring cyclists. When you roll into town, exhausted after a long and exhilarating day on the bike, we want to be sure there is a friendly host with a warm shower waiting for you.

That is one reason why it's so important to keep your Warmshowers profile up to date. If you are not currently hosting, for whatever reason, please be sure to mark yourself as "not currently available" to host. If you have not logged into Warmshowers or responded to an email (or received one) in the LAST 12 MONTHS, please log in now and check your account. If there are no updates, click "Save" and you are good to go.

Hey fellow cyclers!
So many of you shared such kind and supportive comments on my last post about my ride down the Maine coast (for sure what I love most about the road cycling community!) that I wanted to share an update! My friend Hannah came along for the ride and we just completed day three and mile 115, landing in Bar Harbor for the night. We’ve had a great ride so far with just a little rain this morning and are feeling it a bit too, but can’t wait to keep going!

Finally some WS guests! It’s been a while... Also our first time hosting since we moved back to Japan. Great to meet the Sakamoto family on their round trip of Shikoku - part of their six continents adventure! What an inspiring family! The weather was not kind to them but they were having a blast all the same. Great to host again and meet some fantastic people. Just a reminder of what a great community this is! If you find yourself touring Shikoku island, Japan then look us up!

Meet Lorraine Lambert. Lorraine is a “later in life” first-time cyclist who discovered her path after a traffic jam moment.

About eight years ago, while sitting in a traffic jam on the way to work, Lorraine was struck by the thought that she was “stuck on the slippery slope of middle age and heading downhill fast with no way out.” She knew right then and there that she wanted her life to change, but she wasn’t sure what she wanted her new life to look like. She didn’t want a minor change, mind you, but rather something big.

We are joined by Kevin Belanger, Manager of Trail Planning for the Rails to Trails Conservancy and the Great American Rail Trail.

The Great American Rail Trail is the flagship project of the Rails to Trails Conservancy (RTC). RTC was formed in 1986 with the mission to convert unused railway lines into hiking and biking trails. There are many miles of abandoned railway trails across the country, and RTC reimagines public spaces to create safe ways for everyone to walk, bike, and be active outdoors.
