Hello everyone!
We are soon sailing on a trip starting from Nepal (where we will be doing mostly hiking), and leading us afterwards to the beautiful landscapes of Central Asia, starting from Kyrgystan. Our initial plan was to cycle along the famous silk route, from Kyrgystan to the Iranian border, but we are not quite sure how to handle the bicycle issue (getting it shipped from France seems a bit of a logistics hassle).
Do you know about possible networks of cyclists in the region, with the concept of buying-selling bicycles upon entering/leaving the region? In general, do you know how complicated it would be to purchase a touring bike in Kyrgystan?
Thanks!
Marion

Hi, might you can find some cheap bike. In Bishkek or other big cities there`s no big choice. Quality isn`t high, mostly made in China.
So recommended to bring your own bike and the spare parts you expect to need.
Thank you Peter for the feedback :) I feel we might just do it all by foot then.
